How to get dark hair bright red?
My fiance has black hair, and everytime he's tried dying/highlighting it bright red, it just comes out as a burgundy color. Is there a certain way you have dye/highlight dark hair into a bright color? Any tips for the next time he wants to try? Thank you!
First, you bleach your hair, because nothing really dyes over black hair. Then, choose the color of red dye you want, and dye over the bleached hair. I recommend using Manic Panic (which is available in Spencers) because it's only semi-permanent and it stains hair, not damages it with peroxide.
