Leather Floral
I don't buy leather but I want real cowboy boots?
I'm a vegetarian not vegan but I don't wear leather or suede.
I love the look of cowboy boots with floral sundresses or skirts. I bought some fake-leather cowboy boots but they just don't look half as nice. The real ones are taller, they stand up straighter by themselves, and I like the patterns in the leather. I don't want to buy a new pair and contribute to the leather industry, so I thought about maybe buying some used ones off ebay that otherwise would just be sitting in the back of someone's closet.
Would that still be considered contributing?
If you must buy leather, secondhand is always best. As long as you aren't buying it from a company, than it technically isn't giving money to the industry. It's still "supporting" it in the sense of condoning the use of it, and be aware that you'll be getting constant "you're such a hypocrite" comments from friends (I say that one from experience :/) If you're main concern is giving money to the industry, and you don't care as much about the other two additions, then get some secondhand leather. Like you said, it's already been bought anyways - if you didn't buy it, it would technically be sitting in someone's closet, and it doesn't contribute to making more since you aren't giving money to the industry.
Personally, I am pleased with my faux leather boots. Mine are tall and have nice patterns, although they don't stand up on their own but I really could care less about that. I guess it's all about quality or something.
