Use the robots to knock down as much of the well head that is possible and to clear the debris field. Have sis to eight large barges with 200 to friction rig cranes tie to the ship.
Install balance tanks slowly fill with sea water and have a controlled sinking of this massive piece of steel on top over the oil gusher? WHY CAN’T THIS BE DISCUSSED
Besides the answers everyone has already stated (lack proper seal, 70 tons of sunken ship to deal with if it doesn't work) the fact is that sinking a ship that size in a precise place would take months upon months of work and planning for it to get in relatively the same area. The leak is over a mile beneath the surface. The ocean currents that run down there alone would make sinking a ship directly over the spot and having it fall right where you want it to for all intents and purposes impossible.
If you've ever seen the Discovery Channel's special on the sinking of the USS Oriskany you'd see how much effort goes into it. These ships are designed to take explosions without sinking so months of work by clean up crews (lots of hazardous fluids and asbestos and all sorts of other toxic components are inside warships) and demolitions experts would be needed to even prep the ship. It's just so far from being a practical idea it's not worth discussing.
