Why is there a weird connection between Monty Python, SCA, Lord of the Rings and people who are into leather?
SCA is Society for Creative Anachronism...
The SCA is into recreating medieval and renaissance times. Monty Python did the Holy Grail (spoof of King Arthur and Medieval life), Lord of the Rings is very high fantasy and was inspired by lore from the middle ages. As far as leather goes, well, leather was used a lot in the middle ages for clothing and armor and other things. I don't think the connection is so weird.
