How do you make a leather "pinwheel" coin purse?
It's an old coin purse. I can't find any sites or books that tell you how to make them. Does anyone know how or know of a site that can show me?
I'm interested in leather crafts.
I've looked all over the net, but all I can find are sites trying to sell them. No instructions on how to make them.
I couldn't find a pattern, but there is a really clear picture of what I think you're trying to make at the Fabric Origami website -- click on the "Fabric Origami" link at the top, the pinwheel purse is the leftmost pic on the 3rd row, click on the pic to enlarge it. It's basically an octagon with a certain pleating pattern, you can see how the pleats run in the picture. The purse is fabric, but I think it would translate to leather just fine.
