Leather Paddle

Would it be appropriate to dress as an altar boy on Halloween with collection plate in hand?
I was thinking, that would make for an awesome costume. Also, I'd have a friend as a Preist with a leather paddle in hand; smacking the other telling me: "YOU BETTER GET DONATIONS UP THIS YEAR OR YOUR GONNA BE PUNISHED LIKE THE NAUGHTY BOY YOU ARE"...
I think that such a costume would not be approate
