Scrap Lace

Is there a way to bond leather to polyester?

I am thinking of lining the inside heel of my jogging shoes with leather, because they are wearing much faster on the interior heel than anywhere else on the shoe. I have some scrap leather that I would like to use to line the inside of the heel so it would be more durable. I tried putting duct tape on the spot but it was rolling up on the edges of the tape and causing a mess with my socks and giving me little blisters on my heels. This problem with the interior heel of my shoes has happened on every pair of athletic shoes I have ever owned, so it is not a specific manufacturing problem or a poor quality product. The shoes I own fit snuggly and are laced to the highest set of loop holes. I only use them for jogging. The shoes I currently own are from a respected name brand and I'll leave it at that, because I do not want any suggestions on which shoes to buy or not to buy. And that is pretty much it. Thanks.

I have tried several heel liners because ALL shoes fit my foot poorly there. The best one I've found is a German brand at $4.- a pair from a local shoe repair shop. The adhesive on those is excellent.

If you really need to make your own, try the Goop brand glues. They remain slightly flexible and adhere almost anything to almost anything else. Read the directions carefully. They are truly safe when used properly, but can be dangerous if used incorrectly. These glues are found on the adhesives aisle of a discount department store or a home improvement store or even (some varieties, anyway) on the adhesives aisle of a crafts supplies store.
