Yds Natural
If you needed this activity performed in a 10 hour work day, how many trucks would be needed to perform this t?
I got answer for A and B so I need help with C I really appriciate your help with the C answer.
A) If 2,500 bank cu yds. (in-place at natural density), of loamy sand mixed with clay, has to be exported from the site, how many cubic yards would have to be hauled away by truck? 2,500cy x 1.25 = 3125cy
B) If 10 cu yd trucks will be used to haul this material away, how many loads would be required? 3125cy/10cy per load = 313 loads
C) If you needed this activity performed in a 10 hour work day, how many trucks would be needed to perform this task………(Assume a 5 minute truck-line wait time for fill up; 10 minutes to load up truck with dirt, and a 45 minute round trip on each 10 cu yds, also refueling and break time)
following your previous answers, all that's left is the number of trucks?
5 min wait + 10 minute fill + 45 min rest of round trip unload and return = 1 hour
313 loads / 10 hours = 31.3 loads per hour to achieve, say 32 loads per hour.
Interesting to note 10 minutes load time times 313 loads is 3130 minutes, but only have 10 hours is 600 minutes so 3130 /600 is 5 loading stations working continuously...
go back to it takes 45 minutes to finish the round trip after filling so filling can only be for 9 hours and 15 minutes so 313 loads / 9.25 hours 34.2 loads pre hour so 10 minutes loading 34.2 loads per hour is 342 minutes loading in an hour /60 min /hour == 6 loading stations and 35 trucks
