How do I get my store set up to take food stamps?
I have a store that does take and bake pizza like papa murphy's. I know that all the papa Murphy's will take food stamps for their take and bake pizzas. When I called up the place that is supposed to set me up with it they told me that they do not offer the program for me. I told them that Papa Murphy's does it and they said I was misinformed. I am sure I am not, call any Papa Murphy's they take the EBT card!
You right. I have an EBT card and the rule on it that you can't buy any fast food with it (like cooked pizzas) , or "preprepared" food, but you can buy frozen pizzas with it. It just can't be preprepared.
They have to give you the EBT stuff for stuff that qualifies, but you are going to have to make extra sure you don't put any restricted items on people's EBT cards.
Maybe you didn't explain it correctly. Tell them in no uncertain terms that you do sell qualifying products under the EBT program, and explain carefully to them that you aren't selling cooked pizzas to EBT holders, but rather frozen pizzas like at the supermarket. The supermarket does it.
Just pound it into their heads that you are not selling preprepared foods, but qualifying items. You might even have to talk to a few people there. Ask for the supervisor and beat it into his head that its "FROZEN PIZZAS" and that it qualifies for EBT.
